Summary

Join GayOutdoors for this enjoyable loop hike at Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, MA. Although the distance, 4.8 miles, is similar to our last Spring Series hike, this day hike offers more elevation gain, at 1,154’.   The link for the AllTrails map is below, but please note that we will go clockwise (Bicentennial eventually around to Harrington).  I have done this mountain…well, we’ll just say many times. It’s wonderful to enjoy the summit after a slow, gentle climb and then come down fairly quickly to the parking lot via Pine Hill Trail.  Bring a lunch to enjoy at the summit.   Many find trekking poles helpful, and, as with all spring hikes, be prepared for mud.  Like—a lot of mud. The hike should take us about 2.5 hours.

If you have never been here before, be aware that there is also a ski area with a different parking lot.  The address for the Wachusett Mountain State Reservation is 345 Mountain Rd, Princeton, MA 01541.  I am having our start time at 9 am as the parking lot fills up fast on the weekend.  There is an overflow lot as well.  I hope you can join us!
