There was a great suggestion from another GO member for an alternative route; Glencliff to Carriage Rd (approx. 7.5 miles), out and back, less miles than previous route and avoids the tedious extra 3 mile road walk. Glencliff is 800ft more in elevation gain so it will be more of a workout, but hopefully we finish sooner. According to the (closed) Moosilauke Ravine Lodge: Winter Access Road - Parking for hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing is available halfway up the access road in the designated spaces. Only head-in, angled parking is permitted, and others may be towed. Which is a tad confusing to me since Ravine Road is a long hard packed (but not paved road) that everyone parks along one side parallel to the road. I guess we shall find out!

Just a side note, ravine road is probably closed this time of the year. (100% after thought) However use the same address for your GPS, and there seems to be a parking lot about a half mile down the road. This will be adding 1.5 miles each way to the trip, making it more of a 10mi hike.... make sure you have a head lamp with you, as we maybe getting back to the cars in the dark.
