This hike tackles the steep West Ridge Trail to the Beech Mountain summit. The South Ridge and Valley Trails on the descent are more mellow and easier on the legs. Breathtaking views! Length 2.5miles, elevation gain 764ft, duration 2hrs with lunch break. Dress in layers with good footwear and traction. We have the option of adding the Beech Loop if we want to extend the hike distance and duration.
From Rt 102, make a left onto Seal Cove Rd if coming from the south. Make a right onto Long Pond Rd. Follow to the end where you'll reach the pond and trailhead.
