Summary

6.6-mile out-and-back trail near Gorham, New Hampshire. It takes an average of 4 h to complete but calculate more like 5hrs depending on weather conditions and time for lunch. Elevation gain 2050ft. This route begins from Hogan Road and follows the Centennial Trail through Lead Mine State Forest and White Mountain National Forest. It's a steady incline the whole way to the summit of Mount Hayes. Continue past the summit and follow the blue blazes to the ledges for incredible views of the Carter-Moriah range and the Northern Presidential. Expect icy sections and wear sturdy footwear and grip (micros pikes and such). Dress in layers. Shoot me a message if interested in meeting for a great breakfast at the Waterwheel in Jefferson before the hike.

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

From the south, I-93, take exit for Twin Mountain/Gorham. Follow Rt 3. At the intersection with rt 302, continue straight through the light. At the Intersection with Rt 115, make a right. Follow to Rt 2 then make a right onto Rt 2 east towards Gorham. Once in Gorham, at the light, make a right. Travel about 5 miles and make a left onto North rd. In about half a mile take Hogan Rd. Eventually you will see parking on the left side.
