Since it was a solo hike, I decided to do another part of the Long Trail and hit Mount Ellen instead. I came prepared with heavy winter gears. Since most of the hike was not exposed to the westerly wind, the coat quickly came off. But the micro spikes came quite handy. The real only snow was at the top of Mount Ellen and as the peak is exposed, wearing the coat was a must. There was no soul to be seen on the way in. After a quick sandwich as a couple of pictures (including my thumb, see the actual uploaded picture), I returned and met a few people who had a late start in their hike. Overall, a great fall hike.
