Trip Report/Photos
Featured Photo Thanks to JT and everyone else who wassailed with us in Woodstock, VT, last weekend. We started the day with delicious hot cider, thanks to JT, and tasty donuts, thanks to Frank and Alexander. The town of Woodstock was resplendent with holiday decor and classic New England charm. At the Billings Museum, we learned about 19th and 20th-century dairy farming, got a glimpse into agricultural innovations that were unique to this site, and, most importantly, we got to pet all of the animals!!!! After the museum, we went to Woodstock Common for the holiday parade. Dozens of horses of various sizes pulled carriages and carried riders dressed in their holiday best. For those not in the know, wassail (pronounced wah-sil) is a beverage similar to mulled apple cider, as well as singing, dancing, and merrymaking in general. And our merry band of Marys wassailed until there was no more wassailing to be had. I can't imagine anything better to get into the holiday spirit!
