Summary

Celebrate the last day of Summer 2024 with a hike over South and North Baldface in the White Mountains.  This loop has two of the 52 With A View peaks, each offering a 360-degree view with Maine to the east and Mt. Washington to the west.

The distance is 9.3 miles, and the elevation gain is 3,600’.  There are steep ledges as we ascend clockwise up South Baldface, so the weather will be an important factor for this hike.  (These ledges are on the Terrifying 25 list if you’re interested in completing these.)  Definitely wear shoes that have strong traction.  If it’s warm enough at the end, we can swim in the Emerald Pool, just off the trailhead.   I hope you can join us!

Please bring the ten essentials in your pack at all times: https://www.nps.gov/articles/10essentials.htm
