This is a gentle trail that meanders through beautiful NH forests. The destination has multiple overlooks that have views in all directions. If time and interest allow the group can stop and cool off at Kilborn Pond.

The group will gather at the Kilborn Trail Head at 10 am sharp. Travelers have two options.

  1. Meet at Mountainside Campground in Hinsdale NH (group will depart the campground at 9:45 am) or
  2. Day hikers can meet at the Kilborn Pond Trail Head located on Route 63.

The parking lot is 5 miles south of Route 9 and 63 junction or 4 miles north of Route 63 and Route 119 junction.

PREPARATION/WHAT TO BRING:

  • Always have water and food.
  • Bug spray, the only thing worse than the bugs is people who complain about the bugs.
  • Sunscreen
  • Flexibility
  • Patience
  • Sense of humor
  • If you need suggestions on what to bring, PLEASE ASK!!

Group Size It is not fun leaving folks out.

  • If you cannot attend, PLEASE cancel so others may join.
  • If you are on the waiting list, please contact me days prior to the trip, most likely there will be room and if needed this trail will allow us to break the group into two smaller groups.
  • Please do NOT bring any dogs on this hike.

Decreasing the impact on the environment is always a priority! Please plan to “carry in and carry out” all items. It may also be possible to collect other hikers’ debris along the way.

LOL, I put the comment in the wrong place! This is the beautiful swimming lake near Mountainside?

Are we having lunch during the hike or afterwards? If we have lunch during the hike, were you thinking at the pond or before?
