Easy 2.5 Mile Hike - Ward Reservation

I've never been but thought I'd check out the Ward Reservation north of Boston. It offers the choice of a couple of easy 2.5 mile loops. (The elevation change is something like 200ft - not much.) A couple of hills have views of Boston. It's a Trustee.. >>Read More and View "Who Likes It"

Eddie, A GO hike/eclipse event in the Rochester area appeals to me. Two beautiful state parks with hiking potential are Letchworth and Stony Brook. I would definitely try to be a part of this! Tom
I'm glad to see the comments. for the eclipse I think it's a bad idea for me to organize something. I would drive with my car and would follow the eclipse to where hopefully there's low or no clouds - paying attention to weather/cloud predictions the day before and the day of. this would be my first meetup with GO so to avoid stress of coordinating with both clouds and people, I'll let someone else organize this if they want to. I like the idea myself!

So you could do a week or so between Burgos and Leon, or between Pamplona and Burgos which are mostly flat with a few climbs. Most guides suggest stages of 14 to 18 miles a day but if that seems too much you can break them up into shorter segments with places to stay en route. There are also various services that will carry your bag for you between inns for about $7 a day. You should be able to do it at your own pace! Let me know if you have more specific questions.
Hi Michael, I am just back from a month in Spain doing the Via de la Plata from Mérida to Santiago. My apologies that it's been a while since i've signed in here! I've just posted a definite plan for a Camino hike Oct 5-12 and am awaiting the webmaster's approval so it should go up soon. Of course you are the best judge of your own abilities but I would guess that pulmonary issues would limit your ability to deal with significant elevation gains. The Rangers rerouted the trail around the steep rocky area at the start of the trail. The trail both ways is very well marked with NYS trail markers and it’s easy to find your way in and out.
