SUMMARY: Join us for this late Summer walk of one of the jewels of Boston's park system, the Arnold Arboretum. We plan to walk along some of the off the beaten paths of the Arboretum, and will stop frequently to admire some of the unique features of this, the nation's oldest Arboretum. Among the highlights will be the maple collection, where we may be treated to the unusual sight of early fall foliage. We also plan to stop at the bonsai collection, before it gets put away for the winter, and last but not least, we will stop at the site of the "ruins" of the old Bussey estate, which is right next to the Explorers Garden. This Garden was the subject of a recent article in the JP News regarding work to expand it. Here is a link to that article: Rain will cancel this event. |

The Forest Hills station is right across the street from the Arboretum, though note that the Hunnewell Building on the other side of the park, by the main entrance. |
