Gay Men's Camping Adventure - Oct 12th thru 14th HighPlainsDrifter 09/24/2007 10:47 AM
El Capitan SB, CA

10 REFUGIO BEACH RD.

Goleta CA 93117

(Campsite Maximum of 8 People)

October 12th-14th, 2007

Most likely depart after work hours on Friday

El Capitan SB is located off Highway 101, seventeen miles west of Santa Barbara

I have made campground reservations for a camping trip up the California coast at El Capitan SB campground, near Santa Barbara and I would like you to let me know if you are interested in being included. There are limited spaces available, so please let me know as soon as you make your decision to be considered for inclusion. I have tried to predict any questions you might have in the information below, but please let me know if you have any additional questions.

SEX...got your attention? Several people have asked a question that I had not originally considered and I want give a clear answer up front... this is NOT an outdoor “orgy”. It is intended to be a group of gay men who enjoy camping and would like to meet other like minded men. We are all aware, however, that “boys will be boys”, but keep in mind that this is a state campground and we should be considerate of other campers including those in our own group...so have fun, but use discretion.

Alcohol...it is my understanding that alcohol consumption is permitted at the campsite, but is not allowed on the trails and beach.

General Campsite Equipment & Supplies:

• Tents & Sleeping bags - Each person will need to bring or arrange to borrow a sleeping bag and reserve a spot in a tent. (Please let me know who has tents and extra sleeping bags that other campers can borrow and I will do my best to match you up.)

• Insulated Coolers will be needed to keep food fresh, I only have a big cheap styrofoam cooler, so please volunteer good one(s).

• Cook stove(s) may be needed. The site does have a fire ring that can be used to cook some items...so you may want to bring skewers.

• Lanterns are needed for when the fire light is not enough.

What Will It Cost Per Person?

$40.00 or less – Estimated total cost per person for two night camping trip including the campsite fee, food & transportation. (See Details Below)If you have a PayPal account, you can use it to pay, (I can only accept PayPal transfers funded from bank accounts or PayPal account balances, since my PayPal account is not setup to accept transfers funded from credit cards). If you don't have PayPal, we will work out other arrangements.

• $15.00 - Campsite for 2 nights (Payable In Advance, this $15 deposit is NON refundable, unless the campout is cancelled by the entire group.)

• $20.00 - Estimated food, soft drinks, ice, charcoal, etc. for evening 10/12, day 10/13, morning 10/14 (Group will use a semi-democratic process to determine menu which may slightly affect cost)

• $ 5.00 – Transportation - Carpooling is encouraged, because only 3 cars are allowed at the site. (This charge will be used to reimburse the car owners for the $5 car entrance fee and the remainder to offset part of the cost of gas based on the number of passengers.) Let me know who can drive. I will try to organize and route carpool pickups for Friday evening 10/12/07. I assume most people will want to leave after regular business work hours on Friday. I may be able to take a group over earlier in the day to start setting up camp.

October Weather Statistics:

Average = High 76°F / Low 52°F & Record = High 100°F / Low 39°F

Approximate Sunrise 7:00 / Sunset 6:30
