Hello All, I'm planning a day hike in the Uwharrie National Forest (1 1/2 hr from Charlotte/60 miles) and less than that from the Triad on Saturday, March 31. We will do the Badin Lake Loop Hike of 5.6 miles. This hike is rated "easy." The Badin Lake Trail skirts coves of Badin Lake and offers scenic views of the lake. The area has abundant cedars, mosses, and wild flowers. Evidence of past gold mining can be seen along the trail. This trip will be posted on the main GO site and with Wilderness Network of the Carolinas. Look for the posting early next week or feel free to call me with any questions, Tedd at 336-692-0099. I will also plan another trip to South Mountains in April.
