Please check your email! Please confirm you are still attending. I am leaving NH at 4 am, just wanted to make sure everyone is on board. It looks like there will be rain. How much is a mystery. Looking forward to the adventure.

Looks like a damp day for Plum Island -- on the bright side it is perfect for photography. Expect wind! There is NO FRESH WATER sources along this trail. Please plan on 2 to 3 liters of H2O. We will take time to explore and observe wild life, BUT we will also be setting a safe steady pace. A lot of miles to cover. Any questions please contact me. See you all Sunday. Watch out for the little people.

nhclimber03264 Posted Mar 10, 2024 at 5:46 PM

Highly recommended that you bring camera/binoculars etc. Excellent wildlife watching opportunities. PLEASE note that some areas "might" be closed due to nesting.

nhclimber03264 Posted Mar 10, 2024 at 5:43 PM

The trip is a rain or shine event. The map has changed, please see link to revised route. PLEASE note that the length of this trip is meant to be long. This trip was posted as a hike intended to help the crew going to the Grand Canyon prepare.

You may want to double check on this but I believe we are still in the off season so I'm not 100% sure we will have to pay for parking. I know in years past I have never paid to park this time of the year.

nhclimber03264 Posted Mar 10, 2024 at 5:09 PM

Yes, Parker River National Wildlife Refuge charges an entry fee. There is a daily fee of $5 per car, or $2 per walker or biker. ***IF PURCHASING PASSES AT THE REFUGE, PAYMENT CAN BE MADE BY CASH OR CHECK ONLY. PLEASE CALL AHEAD TO ENSURE THAT SOMEONE WILL BE ABLE TO SELL YOU A PASS WHEN YOU WISH TO COME. ALTERNATIVELY, MOST PASSES CAN BE PURCHASED ONLINE

Relayer Posted Feb 29, 2024 at 11:39 AM

as far as I can tell, the refuge will charge an entrance/parking fee of $5/vehicle, see https://www.fws.gov/refuge/parker-river. I’m willing to take up to 4 if we can work out the carpool details

As always everyone is welcome to sign up for activities. For this trip it is understood that participants have experience with long distance, back country situations and will be well prepared. Although temps will be warmer and daylight longer, the setting may still have winter conditions. If you have any questions, contact nhclimber03264.
